Pinning down the Elusive... Jan 2018

I've known Andy Parker of Elusive Brewing for several years when we were both home brewers. We used to converse on Twitter and we've met at the odd home brew competition and meet-up. We both have similar backgrounds in that we both set our own breweries up after winning several home brew competitions.

Fast forward a few years and we now frequently meet up at trade events and beer festivals - often when we're both exhibiting our beers. Pretty much every time we've met since having our own breweries we've said, "We really must do a collaboration."

Well... It eventually happened last Monday when Andy popped by to brew a Black IPA with Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops.  We were planning a really low ABV session beer, but Andy's amazing mash paddling technique somehow yielded miraculous efficiency from the mash, so we're actually expecting something closer to 4.6%.

We finished up fairly early which gave us plenty of time to head over the Manchester Beer & Cider Festival for a few beers!

The final packaged product should be available from mid February in cask, keg and bottle.  And watch out for a return visit collaboration at Elusive Brewing later in the year.

Big thanks to Andy for coming and keeping me entertained for the day :)
